Curiosity brought the Foodies out in full force June 18th when VA StrEats did their first Food Truck Festival in the city of Fredericksburg. The Food Trucks generators hummed as they churned out one hot meal after the other to the satisfaction of the participants. As patrons eat their way through more than 20 of the metropolitan Area’s best mobile restaurants.
The weather was perfect for a picnic and a few people did just that setting up their picnic in the wide open field at the center of the Fairgrounds. Some took the time to educate themselves on some food truck technology.
Entrepreneurs with savvy pitched their tents alongside the food trucks and made some sales of their own. The vendors ranged from Jewelry to clothing, to crafts and novelty items. “I think everybody else (Lula Roe consultants) was scared because it was a Food Truck Festival. But I was Um, excuse me, who is gonna dribble what on what shirt and need another shirt to put on? Come see me.” Jenn Erin McCann said of the event.
All in all, The Food Truck Festival went well, as 400 VIP Tickets were sold, and there was an estimated 6K-10K people participated in the event. As reported before, proceeds from the purchase of the tickets go to No Kid Hungry. No kid Hungry is an organization that helps curb youth hunger through the schools.
